Featuring John Steven Crowley and Jenifer Strauss

Saturday November 9, 2024 • 7:30 – 9:00pm

John CrowleyThe Michigan Bright Water Storytelling Festival welcomes John Crowley who will feature at the evening Story Concert on Saturday, November 9, with stories around our 2024 festival theme, “Natural Wonders”.

John Steven Crowley is an award-winning actor who has performed in theaters around the country. John grew up in Chicago and draws many of his heart-felt stories from his own life and the African-American experience. John has had a dual career as an actor, job coach, and youth counselor. Early on, John realized the potential of storytelling to break down barriers and connect people from all walks of life. He writes most of his own stories and incorporates singing, dancing and intense energy with every story he shares. John resides in Grand Rapids, Michigan with his wife and daughter.

Jenifer StraussThe Michigan Bright Water Storytelling Festival welcomes Jenifer Strauss who will feature at the evening Story Concert on Saturday, November 9, with stories around our 2024 festival theme, “Natural Wonders”.

Dynamic and thought provoking…engaging and enthusiastic…heart-warming and educational…Jen Strauss is Storyteller, Speaker and Narrative Coach who uses STORY to enrich lives!

Based in Traverse City, Michigan but performing nationally and virtually, Jen combines her passion for teaching and storytelling to help educators, organizations, and individuals connect, communicate, and accomplish goals.

A former classroom teacher of ten years, Jen discovered that the human brain is hard-wired for story. People think, learn, and imagine in narrative.  Storytelling turned her students into inspired learners and motivated writers. In 1993 she left formal classroom teaching to create her business, Story Be Told and now enriches over 300 audiences and clients a year with her unique brand of energy-injected storytelling performances, keynotes, workshops, trainings, and narrative coaching.
